About Harvest Night

Harvest Night, a gala auction usually held on the last Saturday of October, is the only fundraising special event for the Knapp Medical Center Foundation. The money raised at the gala auction goes into an endowment from which earnings provide grants to Knapp Medical Center. The grants to the hospital fund health care equipment for enhanced patient services and health care education for employees.

Generous Harvest Night community contributions have helped provide over $4 million in funds to Knapp Medical Center. In 2008, the Foundation gave $451,000 in grants.

Grants were used for the following:
  • Otoscope for Women's Health Services
  • Upgrade OB Trace View software application and add four work stations to complete the system in Labor & Delivery. Now every L&D patient care area including the delivery rooms will be included in this system that tracks and electronically records the fetal heart rate and the mother's vital signs.
  • Two Syringe Pumps for Nursery. The pump provides minute amounts of medication, IV solutions and food for our tiniest patients, pre-term babies.
  • Two Neonatal Cardiac Monitors for Nursery.
  • Infant Protection System for Nursery in order to continuously track the location of our newborns while at Knapp.
  • Oil immersion objectives for Lab. The oil provides finer resolution and brighter images viewed through the microscope.
  • Heated Incubator for Lab to process patient specimen cultures.
  • 8 Vital Signs Monitors for GI Lab.
  • Nursing education modules: Essentials of Critical Care Orientation and Basic EKG Interpretation

With the donation, your gift continues giving year after year. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. From everyone at the Knapp Medical Center Foundation, thank you!
