Harvest Night 2009 FAQs
What is Harvest Night?
Harvest Night is a gala auction and dinner sponsored by the Knapp Medical Center Foundation.
Why hold Harvest Night?
To help people who are sick. Illness, disease and accidents happen
in every family regardless of age or income. Harvest Night offers a
fun, elegant evening with the serious purpose of growing the Knapp
Medical Center Foundation’s endowment. Earnings from the endowment
provide equipment and training to care for those who are hurt or ill
and are being served at Knapp Medical Center.
When is Harvest Night?
Harvest Night is held annually on the last Saturday of
October….unless, like 2009, Halloween falls on that Saturday. In a nod
to October’s holiday, Harvest Night swings into action the Saturday
prior to Halloween on October 24, 2009.
Where is Harvest Night held?
In 2009, Harvest Night changes locations for only the third time in
its 27 year history. The event will be held at the Knapp Conference
Center, which is a separate building on the Knapp Medical Center campus
just west of the hospital. Knapp Medical Center is located at 1401 E.
Eighth St. in Weslaco.
Do I have to go into the hospital to reach Harvest Night?
No. Again, the Knapp Conference Center is a separate building with a blue entrance that faces west.
How do I find the Conference Center?
First you need to find Knapp Medical Center:
-
Take the Texas Blvd/FM 88 exit on Expressway 83 in Weslaco and turn south toward Weslaco’s downtown.
-
At Eighth St., turn left.
-
Once you see the park on your left and the six-story Knapp Medical
Center ahead, turn left at the electronic sign onto Knapp Medical
Boulevard. -
A parking lot will be on your left and the entrance to the Conference Center on the right.
-
For other directions, check out the map.
What’s inside the Conference Center?
Upon entering the Conference Center, you will be inside a large
reception area from which you can enter a large ballroom straight
ahead. Turning right before entering the ballroom, takes you past
offices, restrooms, classrooms and a preparation kitchen.
Why move Harvest Night?
The Harvest Night Steering Committee put much study, discussion and
planning into the decision to move Harvest Night. Here are some of the
reasons for the move:
-
Newer facility
-
Technology: Main ballroom has six screens and projectors
-
More restrooms
-
Closer to the reason Harvest Night is held….to benefit our Mid-Valley hospital.
Yes, the Conference Center is smaller than the previous location,
but the more intimate atmosphere was another consideration for moving. View photos of the Knapp Conference Center.
How much are sponsorships?

time in 27 years. The Bronze Sponsorship has been changed to $1,500
